Colour schemes

When you're putting up the Christmas decorations inside, what colour schemes do you tend to go for the most?
Which colours do you assosciate most with Christmas time?
Do you change the colours of your decorations every year?

I used to change them every year. I had green tree with lilac. Then the next year I decided that it was too girly so had a white tree with copper, dark brown and gold baubles. Last year I had small green and red trees around and red beads strung around in wide loops and nutcracker decorations.

Cool, a variation can be nice I'm sure!
Last year we changed ours to gold and black and red and silver but before it was just red, green and gold. I prefer the new more co-ordinated look.

Our tree decorations hark back to when the kids were babies and I sent off for Grolier disney character decorations.They are now such a part of Christmas with ooohs and aaaahs when they come out of the box. i also have a lot of wooden hearts and snowmen.............I love snowmen.

It must be nice to have the same decorations in a way as well because it can become almost like a tradition to keep them the same.
The wooden decorations sound nice as well - they probably look good with the other Disney ones too!

I don't have tinsel, so just have plain red and plain gold glass baubles, with traditional wooden toys, which always looks really nice and old fashioned, especially in my bay window as I live in an 1800's farmhouse.

What we started last year was to buy quite an extravagant ornament, it was a hand cast and hand painted traditional rocking horse, it's absolutely beautiful. On the bottom I put a tiny label showing that it was bought for Sydnee's first chrstmas. I shall do the same this year and following years, so that she has a little collection when she leaves home!

That's a sweet tradition to start.

I love those little wooden ornaments too. I have some tiny soldiers and rocking horses. They're so cute.
