I prefer it to be somewhere other than home as then you don't have to worry quite so much about the mess.

It's nice of them to let you use their house! Especially if it's bigger!

It is really nice of them, they have a huge conservatory with double doors opening onto garden and a bathroom joined on. Dont know what i would do without use of their house i am sooooooo grateful.

My flat is too small to have much more than a few little gatherings so I normally try to persuade my Mother in Law to have us all over for Christmas and to throw a party. I always provide drink and some food for the party though.

QueenB - that does sound like an awesome place to have a party!
Cat - That sounds like a good idea. My house is small too. We have 7 rooms in total but they're all tiny.
Providing food and drink is good too. That way, your mother in law wont be too annoyed at having to host it!

That's right. She had to throw a party on Saturday for my Husband and His Dad's birthday (same day) and I took the booze and a cake. The place was a big mess though afterwards which I don't think she liked but that's drunken partygoers for u!

Haha, well I guess if she's willing to let you use the house, she should expect some mess...
Was it fun?

Yeah it was great, I made a 10 layer cake which seemed to go down well and the food and drink was flowing so I think everyone had a good time.
