We usually end up putting the tree up in the last week before Christmas because we're too busy with Christmas parties and organising Christmas and the tree just ends up being the last thing to get done xD.

Re: When do you put your tree up?
I think it makes it seem more special in a way if it's up for a shorter amount of time. We always take the tree down on the 2nd of January though because we have people round at new year and we like the place to still look festive while they're there. We exchange gifts then as well so in a way it's still Christmas.

Re: When do you put your tree up?
You're right. I put mine up in October last year, haha
I got too excited too early and the decoration just seemed like the norm by November.
I'm gonna TRY to hold off this year.

Haha, cool! I wish I could put mine up in October but I think I might get slaughtered for that xD
When are you gonna try and hold on until this year then?

My tree goes up the 1st weekend of December, i love christmas, so the sooner the house is decorated the better.

Re: When do you put your tree up?
I think maybe third week of November? The Christmas lights get switched on in Norwich on the third Thursday usually, so I always go late night shopping and buy decorations. Maybe the Saturday after the lights switch on.

Re: When do you put your tree up?
debbs - First week of december sounds like a great time to put the tree and decorations up. Just as the less festive people begin to get festive!
RedCat - I thought it was tuesday they turned the lights on xD That explains why i missed it last year! At least I know for this year though. The saturday after sounds like a good time to do it as you'll be festive with the city lights and people wont complain so much xD.

Re: When do you put your tree up?
That's a little unfair! If someone in my house had a birthday at the start of December, I'd wait until afterwards to get the tree up. I guess having lights and things on the outside of the house isnt so bad but when it's inside, it detracts from the meaning of your birthday i should think.

Re: When do you put your tree up?
We put the tree up the weekend before Thanksgiving because we travel for Thanksgivng and we like to come home and see the tree. It will be fun this year because our little guy will be 22 months and I'm sure he will love to take the ornaments off the tree!

We put ours up on the first Sunday of December, as a family. We look forward to it every year and i just end up watching loads of Christmas films that day.

Re: When do you put your tree up?
Welcome Joe. I think early December is probably the most popular time to put up the tree. I'm thinking of doing mine, next week.....just messing!

Re: When do you put your tree up?
jenchristmaslady - That sounds like a good time to get the tree up. I'm sure having kids around at such a young age will be good fun, even if it's a little destructive as well!
JoeMcHugh - That sounds like a nice tradition. I should think that doing it as a family would be great.
